Our Projects: Programs That Drive Real Change

Our Projects

At Dumdum Nakshatra Welfare Society, every project is a step closer to building healthier, stronger, and more educated communities. Each initiative we take is deeply rooted in our three focus areas — Child Healthcare, Child Education, and Adult Literacy. Our projects are not just events, but sustained movements that bring lasting impact to underprivileged children, families, and communities around Dumdum.

We capture these moments to share with you the stories of change, hope, and resilience. Here are some highlights from our journey:

School Kits Distribution

At the start of the academic year, our team distributed school bags, books, uniforms, and stationery to children from low-income families. For many, it was the first time they owned brand new books and a proper school bag.
We believe that small tools like books and pencils can ignite big dreams.

We distributed groceries for elderly people. The grocery distribution was arranged to help some elderly marginalized women with monthly rations.

Food and grocery distribution during pandemic

We had several drives for food and groceries distribution to people during the Covid - 19 pandemic. Several hundred people were directly benefited from our attempt at helping the people in the need at the darkest of times.

We aim to address social imbalances by promoting inclusivity and support for all, regardless of background, through various welfare initiatives and community outreach efforts.

Monetary Support to differently abled children

We launched an adult literacy program for women in Dumdum’s slum clusters. Mothers proudly read their first words and signed their names for the very first time.
When parents learn, children thrive. Literate adults create stronger families and communities.

Food and education drive to young children

During Durga Puja and Diwali, we celebrated with underprivileged children by distributing sweets, new clothes, and organizing cultural programs. The joy on their faces reflected the true spirit of community.
Festivals are about togetherness — and no child should feel left out.
